Taj Mahal :
Taj Mahal was built over a period of twenty two years and twenty thousand people were deployed to work on it. The Taj Mahal is situated more than 900 ft. (275 m.) away from the entrance at the opposite end of the garden. Towering almost 200 ft. (76m.) in height, the tomb stands on its own marble plinth, which rests on a red sandstone platform that serves to level the land as it slopes to the river. Four tall minarets rise up from the corners of the white marble plinth. It is a symbol of eternal love where Shahjahan too lies buried, re-united at last with his beloved Mumtaz.

Agra Fort : |

It represents first major building project of Akbar, though remains of only a few buildings built by him now survive. Built on the site of an earlier castle in AD 1565-75, the fort, apart from other important units,contains Jahangiri Mahal, Khass Mahal, Diwan-i-Khass, Diwan-i-Am, Machchhi Bhawan and Moti Masjid. Many extant buildings were erected by Shah Jahan (AD 1630-55). Irregularly triangular on plan, it is enclosed by a double battlemented massive wall of red sandstone which is about 2 km in perimeter and interrupted by graceful curves and lofty bastions. Of its four gates, the most impressive is the Delhi Gate on the west. |

Chini-ka-Rauza :
The monument was built in 1639 A.D. by Mulla Shukrullah Shirazi, in his life time, who was the Prime Minister of Shahjahan. He was also a famous poet of that time and composed several poetry under the pen name of 'Allami'. Uniqueness of this monument, lies in the fact that every portion of this building is enriched with profuse decoration in variegated schemes of colours due to which the monument is popularly known as 'Chini ka Rauza'. |

Dayal Bagh : |

Dayal Bagh is a place of pilgrimage for members of the Radhaswani sect. The sect which was founded by a banker of Agra, Swami Shiv Dayal, in 1861. In Dayal Bagh, 10 km north of Agra. The white marble samadhi of the Radah Soami religion is currently under construction. It was started in 1904 and is nor expected to be completed until sometime next century. You can see pietra dura inlaid marblework actulally being worked on. Dayal Bagh is 2km north of Agra and can be reached by bus or cycle. |

Itmad-Ud-Daulah :
The tomb of Mirza Ghisas Beg. This Persian gentleman was Jehangir's wazir, or Chief Minister and his beautiful daughter later married the emperor. The tomb was constructed By Nur Jahan, the Light Of the world, between 1622 and 1628 and is very similar to the Tomb she constructed for her husband, Jehangir near Lahore in Pakistan. The Itimad-ud-Daulah is open from sunrise to sunset. |

Ram Bagh : |

Laid out in 1528 by Babur the first of the Mughal emperors this is the earliest Mughal garden. It is said that Babur was temporarily buried here before being permanently interred at Kabul in Afghanistan. The Ram Baug is 2 to 3 km further north of the Chini Ka rauza on the riverside and is open from sunrise to sunset. One of the earliest Mughal gardens, it was laid out by Emperor Babar the founder of the Mughal Dynasty. It is said that Babar was temporarily buried here before being permanently interred at Kabul in Afghanistan.
